2/27/20

Raising sheep for clothing wool (and in some instances mutton) wasn't the only reason Little Bo Beep did so. After a bout with Alopecia, she also tended to fashion wigs for herself from the coats of her beloved little creatures...
The fact that Dodie's top-knot ponytail was cute was beside the fact that it was also a very functional hairstyle, especially when her papa Lester wanted to keep close watch on her.
That was one rough night for Jeff, regardless of how much fun he had. In fact, even his little sister's baby doll had to turn away from the action in horror at the 1:00am mark!

Yes, it was (almost) all smiles the night of the Peppermint Couples Dance at Leavenview VFW Hall, but when Maureen and Valerie awoke the next morning to discover that Len and Gerald had run off together, the laughter turned to tears...
It was a particularly meaningful Mother's Day the time Harold brought the kids to visit Grandma Petty because her gift that year was a fox stole that little Jeff had shot and his siblings had carefully skinned and sewn together!
The Raminos decided it was time for finicky friend Albie to finally get wet, so they picked him up, with each brother grabbing a key part of him, and headed to the shoreline!

The lifelong closeness between sisters Arabelle and Venetia took a hit when one of them was promoted to chief hostess down at Interstate House of Waffles over the other...
The joy was infectious when The Pop-Ups won their regional tournament for Table Tennis, but it did sort of irk Lenore that Betty Rae and Cathy grabbed the trophy for the picture before she could get to it...
It was all smiles for the yearbook photographer, but Jenelle did have to admit deep down that most of her fellow workers in the Valley High cafeteria were either witchy or catty, take your pick...

As fun as camping at Lake Podesta was, the shoreline was quite rocky and jagged, so Larry needed to give his feet a soak in the sink after the first afternoon...
Karla and the Marxes strove for success in the late-'70s, but never charted. They were, however, the hit of two proms and about six or seven wedding receptions before disbanding.
He might be feigning disinterest in front of Troy, but Mary Jean knew that Dermot was going to ask for a lick or two of her soft serve and the mere notion of it chilled her to the bone...

Hank, Felicity and Willie really enjoyed the lengthy tour of Tinkham's Wall, but it was quite a trek back to that dubious Port-O-Let and Willie desperately needed to go...
One perk for Stan of dating a slightly younger gal like Charmaigne was that she kept him abreast of all the latest dance crazes, although he did pop his belt during "The Thrust."
Christopher's Yard Party required every attendant to show up in a toga made solely of one yard of fabric and NOTHING else, but it didn't take Jameson long to discover that Toby cheated...

Larry spent a long, lonely day at the shoe factory with no one there realizing that it had been his birthday, but when he got back to his apartment, he discovered that his landlords, Phyllis and Virgil Dreadmore, had let themselves in and prepared a surprise party. The three of them had a nice evening.
Veronica had decided long ago that just because she, David and Missy lived in a shack on the shoreline of Tahiti that was no reason for them to live like heathens. She still fixed her hair every day and made sure Missy had a clean dress to wear.
Francine was determined to have a great time the night of her grandfather's wake and kept a couple of guests over afterwards, though in the end they found one another more interesting than her!

After having seen "Rosemary's Baby," Theo implored Gloria to get a pixie haircut just like Mia Farrow's, but she kept dragging her feet. So one night when she'd had one Amaretto Sour too many, he decided to take matters into his own hands...
Cliff was still recovering from that accident in the warehouse in which a case of linoleum flooring fell off the top shelf and hit him over the head, so an occasional beer or two helped ease the pain a bit until he could spring back to his old self.
Thanks to a bevy of construction projects at St. Roy's seminary school, it became difficult to get around without incident. So, as seen here, Barry would sometimes give Fred a lift across parts of the site in order to protect his new penny loafers.

Competition for the title of Miss Greater Akron of 1961 was incredibly tough, especially since the contestants seemed so strikingly diverse this particular year.
Gerald waited for just that one additional rogue wave that could come in and knock him closer to Richie and give him an impromptu "From Here to Eternity" moment...
Bonita was not one to waste anything, so when her Simplicity pattern for a new one-piece swimsuit also came with the layout for a two-piece, she made Roger a suit from the bottoms and even was able to use up her leftover fabric!
