Theatregoers at the Chamberpot Players production of "Arsenic and Old Lace" could only look on in astonishment as Evadine Hadley went off book and decided she couldn't kill this one, preferring to keep him around as a dance partner!

Arnetta waited and waited for her blind date to show up at Rango's Red Barn, but Howard looked on from a distance, unsure if he could handle everything she had to offer...

What with the 97 degree heatwave, Arlen decided that fur-covered Bingo needed a turn in the pool lounger more than he did and happily gave up his favorite spot for the afternoon.

While dinner with the family had been a hoot, Evelyn was in no mood to face all the dishes until Renee offered up some liquid courage, which managed to lighten the mood and get her started on them.

As co-founder of The Russellville Players, Rosco Tucker wore many hats and felt it completely within his rights to change the script of their next extravaganza from "Auntie Mame" to "Uncle Dane," with him in the starring role.

Ten years after disbanding, Vic and the Vermins finally were able to get together for a reunion, with all prior interpersonal issues now abandoned.

 

Happy Halloween - 2022!

Ever since Labor Day, Arch had been intending to drop about 25 lbs for Halloween, but with the start of football season tailgating and the opening of a Burger Chef only two streets away from his house, he fell a little short of his goal...

Ogg really thought he had a shot a being elected governor, but unfortunately too many people found his point of view extremely primitive.

Cheryl & Jennifer had looked so forward to rooming together during their first year at Harrisburg, but were horrified to find that the allotted time each morning prior to classes didn't allow for proper grooming and styling!

Bullet couldn't stand the gunfire any longer and finally clamped down on where he thought the ruckus was coming from, but he'd gotten a-hold of the wrong "gun!"

Petey just adored Clea and felt like their first date went amazingly well but, much to his surprise, she soon ghosted him...

Sick to death of five losing seasons in a row for the Phillipstown Banshees, Ramona finally took matters into her own hands and founded a cheering squad. It is now up to eight losing seasons in a row.

Each member of Al Dantino's family was proud of his promotion to Evening Floor Manager at Medina Chrysler-Plymouth, but wife Carla was most elated of all, for she could already envision a new set of "real" drapes for the living room from Elder-Beerman!

In the final analysis, Denise wondered if the mediocre pay and late hours of her job as hostess at The Brass Flamingo was worth all the effort to be glamorous.

Inspired by the success of The Partridge Family, Becky, Clinton, Jessie and Mama Bernadette put their musical (and choreographic) talents to work and emerged as The Kakapo Family.

In truth, Ronnie had every right to be upset on his big day. Not only did Angela blow out the candles on his cake, but big brother Terry unwrapped all his presents!

The only disagreement that Jackie and Wanda Sue had on their Chicago to Seattle train trip was Wanda Sue's insistence on the bottom bed bunk. That way she could sit up in the morning without denting her hair...

It mattered not a bit that Cliff's new fiancee Carol Ann was heartily approved of by his family... if she didn't win over Penelope, the relationship was finished!

Raising sheep for clothing wool (and in some instances mutton) wasn't the only reason Little Bo Beep did so. After a bout with Alopecia, she also tended to fashion wigs for herself from the coats of her beloved little creatures...

The fact that Dodie's top-knot ponytail was cute was beside the fact that it was also a very functional hairstyle, especially when her papa Lester wanted to keep close watch on her.

That was one rough night for Jeff, regardless of how much fun he had. In fact, even his little sister's baby doll had to turn away from the action in horror at the 1:00am mark!

Larry spent a long, lonely day at the shoe factory with no one there realizing that it had been his birthday, but when he got back to his apartment, he discovered that his landlords, Phyllis and Virgil Dreadmore, had let themselves in and prepared a surprise party. The three of them had a nice evening.

Veronica had decided long ago that just because she, David and Missy lived in a shack on the shoreline of Tahiti that was no reason for them to live like heathens. She still fixed her hair every day and made sure Missy had a clean dress to wear.

Francine was determined to have a great time the night of her grandfather's wake and kept a couple of guests over afterwards, though in the end they found one another more interesting than her!

Competition for the title of Miss Greater Akron of 1961 was incredibly tough, especially since the contestants seemed so strikingly diverse this particular year.

Gerald waited for just that one additional rogue wave that could come in and knock him closer to Richie and give him an impromptu "From Here to Eternity" moment...

Bonita was not one to waste anything, so when her Simplicity pattern for a new one-piece swimsuit also came with the layout for a two-piece, she made Roger a suit from the bottoms and even was able to use up her leftover fabric!

Things weren't exactly hopping in Riverside... Just about the only entertainment for Sandi and the gang was hanging out at the Jolly Taco and occasionally giving each other a surprise kick in the burrito...!

After a long day of alterations and sewing on sequins, Nick was plum worn out and suddenly unsure if Nita was going to be able to make her appearance down at The Apricot Worm as planned.

When Harold didn't show up as planned, even after 45 minutes had gone by, Jessamyn started to wonder if she wasn't just a bit too demanding in insisting that he take her to The Golden Lantern for surf & turf on just their second date...

Charlotte wanted to enjoy one last bike ride and a picnic with Steve and Raffles before the new local ordinance requiring helmets went into place. From that day on, she merely roller-skated if she wads craving outdoor exercise.

And so Cliff continued to play the big man on campus while not realizing that the wave behind him was not going to tolerate his head being above water for more than a couple of seconds longer...

While Flossie and Red were delighted to have made it to the 50-year mark in their marriage, being reunited with their bridal party - Maid of Honor Helen and Best Man Stu - did stir up some bitter memories of when Flossie was found behind the gift table embracing with Stu during their reception!

There were several bad habits that Charlotte and Steve wanted to break Raffles of as the New Year began. One was his propensity for going potty in the living room. The other was mating with Charlotte's hair when it was resting on her wig-stand overnight.

Dani had always wanted to open her own business so The Modd Bodd was a no-brainer. It's just that her resident manager took objection to her opening it in her one-bedroom garden apartment...!

Jack had no intention of dating Thing from The Addams Family for more than one night, but in time he came around to the benefits of a long-term relationship and the two were a hot couple for about three years!

Happy New Year

As the specter of New Year's Eve closed in, Romilda worried that she had enough booze on hand for her gaggle of seven Bunco partners and herself...

In those weary days before "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve," when channel 7 went off the air at 11:30pm, folks like Herforth and Edith struggled to keep everyone entertained until the clock struck twelve!

For the Roaring '20s shindig at Kimmy Hemmelman's house, the girls had been issued feathers for their hair and the boys were given paper fedoras, but Richie had other ideas...

Baby New Year of 1973 was supposed to come careening into New York City's Times Square at the stroke of midnight, but somehow took a wrong turn and bounced into the lap of Lou Fennelman in a New Rochelle subdivision...!

Valerie's New Year's bash was a total riot, but things did get dicey when she realized that someone had used Krylon spray paint on her exposed brick and she had to hold an inquisition around 12:45am!

Stevie and Darla had their fun at midnight, but by the time breakfast was served the next morning around 8:15am, Grandma Parker has long since had her fill of the noisemakers, both human and mechanical!

Carolee wasn't about to settle for a bracelet from F.W. Woolworth's or some drug store perfume this year, but she did discover that Santa wanted a little something in return for the upgrade...

At last, Grandpa Earl and Teddy found a way to rid themselves of the endless haranguing from Grandma Bessie as Teddy set up his new missile launcher and then waited for her to take her customary seat...

It wasn't intentional, but as she posed before the tree, Lynda's hair and dress kept brushing against the branches, causing several of the ornaments to come crashing down from above onto the unsuspecting residents of her Christmas village beneath!

At first Clara thought it was a thrill to be dating someone in the automobile industry, but after the third time he had her posing for prospective hood ornaments of upcoming Chevrolet models (without benefit of pay!), she'd pretty much had it...

And so once again it happened. Sherry, despite wearing her new fuchsia silk party dress, had wound up losing yet another wedding date on the dance floor to her exuberant Aunt Phyllis.

After generations of male pattern baldness in the family, Alberta decided to put little Theo on Vitamin E supplements and stay ahead of the curve. The results were astounding!

There were several things that Tammie was hoping to receive on her birthday, but happily she got the one that was top on her list; a full afternoon of pampering at Elizabeth Arden.

And so the Strawberry Grove Dance Studio - Group E was informed as to which of them was going to be selected as Clara in "The Nutcracker Suite," a decision that didn't sit well with Melody Ann...

After a lot of hinting and a few false starts, Veronica finally received the proposal she'd been waiting for from Big Red...
