Happy Thanksgiving

After the rest of the family gorged on Thanksgiving turkey, they all slipped out into the family room for a much-needed nap, leaving Simon strapped to his high chair with all the leftover taste treats lingering tantalizingly out of reach...

Lenora liked things a certain way and struggled to figure out how her holiday bird could effectively be glitzed up a bit before being presented at dinner.

In order to make her mother happy, Lynda Marie brought Ernie over to her place for Thanksgiving dinner, but for security's sake in that steamy little eat-in kitchen, she kept a purple can of Super-Hold Aqua-Net on the nearby counter...

All the effort of putting up her Christmas tree had caused a dent in Sandy's coiffure, but thankfully she recalled collecting a hat from Democratic headquarters earlier in the month and she was able to obscure the problem with that for a quick snapshot...

When they first headed to the vet, Farfel didn't feel like he had any reason to be going, but once Viola drove him there, swerving all over the road and covering two lanes, he suddenly felt the need for a doctor and perhaps even a tranquilizer!

The New Rochelle Ladies Auxiliary Bruncheon featured a new contest this year and the competition was fierce for "Craziest Chapeau."

Gladys Rubenwald was none too pleased to have to pay the winner the $31.50, which was half the pot, when she'd spent so much on real silk flowers for her own topper...

And so, sadly, as Philomena was bringing her plate for Gert to wash, it occurred to her that she was going to be experiencing the effects of Gert's corned beef and cabbage casserole for sometime thereafter...

Although ticket sales were light for that first performance at Lester's Roadhouse & Pony Keg, it wasn't long before Dirt, Breeze and Flame took off and almost had a hit single on the R&B chart...

For her big finale, Orange Cream Cake with Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Garnish, Wanetta wanted everything to be perfect, but as she was plating up, she found there weren't very many of the strawberries left that she hadn't already taste-tested for quality...

No one in the Livingston family realized when they bought Lynda her first little guitar that it would lead to the fruition of the child band "Harry and the Headhunters," who had little success in their early years, but later charted with two minor punk rock hits.

The Hassenfeld Brothers and their friend Brian had developed a fun activity for parties and picnics, but after this particular day - when Henry got scuffed on some gravel and Herman found ticks in some undesirable places - they developed a mat for it along with a spinner and the immortal game Twister was born!

Utterly tired of autograph seekers, Penelope finally opted for sunglasses to augment her already incognito covered-up winter look.

Jerrod was told to wait at the car while Millicent changed into her suit, but the longer she took, and the hotter the fender became in the sun, the more concerned he became that he'd be able to stick it out until her emergence!

Since she'd dropped a few pounds, Vonda no longer worried about making it down her mother's hallway without scraping the sides, but the height of the door to her bedroom still provided a bit of suspense...

Carrie Anne had no clue when she and Burl stopped at Motel 6 on the way to Springfield that there was a hot new nightclub a few doors down. With nothing to wear, she nabbed the brightly-patterned top spread from one of the beds and fashioned herself a cool get-up for the night!

And with that, the 2nd Annual Greater Nyack Billiards Play-Off was ready to roll. This year's grand prize was a 3-night stay on Oahu (airfare not included.)

Nancy and Warren had come in 4th the prior year, but this time were convinced they had the West Orange Rollerama Championship in the bag with their sparkling routine to "Lara's Theme."

This year for the Kiwanis fall fundraiser, a few of the wives got together and put on a show of 1920s song and dance, which some of the more critical attendees dubbed, "Thoroughly Dismal Dottie..."

It was already tough to get a good seat for the parade, but Chuck and his buddies (including crazy Ted) strove to get a great vantage point because they knew that one of the convertibles was going to contain lovely Karen Weston, that year's Miss Persimmon Grove.

Wendra never wanted to join her husband Charlie on his Sunday afternoon fishing trips, especially after a Saturday morning trip to Veronique's for a wash 'n set, but when she found the right headgear, she relented and came along with no carping...

And so Stuart was successful in smothering his pesky fiancee Elyse and almost had her buried until her twin sister Elaine suddenly appeared... or was it vice-versa?!

And so with some creative dexterity, teen singing idols Paolo and Dimitri were able to evade a pack of screaming teenage girls who'd been chasing them down the back streets of Padua for an autograph (or more!)

Jan loved her job as night hostess at The Bamboo Lantern, but had been repeatedly warned not to smoke in her synthetic and highly flammable uniform...
