Harwood Meighan really didn't appreciate having to put on his full dress uniform every morning simply to have coffee and cereal, but his wife Marcia had very definite ideas of how she wanted things to look and be around the house...

That last wave really sent Heinrich for a tumble and he hoped he could get his act together before the tide really began to roll in!

Edwina enjoyed weekends with the grandkids immensely, but somehow hide & go seek simply wasn't her game...

LaVelle induced her children to sit for various hairstylings and color treatments as she awaited passing her boards. While Kerri didn't seem to mind them, Jeremy resented having to grow his hair out and never seemed to like what his mom did to it...

And so, with a little further encouragement, Glenn was finally persuaded by Dusty to stop trying to repeatedly play "Everybody's Talkin' at Me" on his guitar!

Patrons flocked to The Teal Ostrich when they heard that resident DJ Terrence had gotten some new vinyl, but were sadly disappointed when they discovered he was wearing it!

Anjelica couldn't wait to have her portrait made with Buddy in front of the decorations she'd made for the Walnut Knoll High School Starlight Promenade, but boy did she catch hell when she got home. Her mother had intended to roast some chicken for dinner and discovered they were completely out of tin foil!
File Photo: An early jam session of Deenie & the Teenies, a novelty group that was waylaid before it got off the ground when 3/4th of the members came down with chicken pox...
Stephanie and Randy were quite worried about Arnella's weight loss and fretted that she might have an eating disorder so they took her to Randy's favorite joint for a nice greasy breakfast. Problem was, she ordered two poached egg whites on dry pumpernickel toast! (And only finished half.)

For her big finale, Orange Cream Cake with Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Garnish, Wanetta wanted everything to be perfect, but as she was plating up, she found there weren't very many of the strawberries left that she hadn't already taste-tested for quality...
No one in the Livingston family realized when they bought Lynda her first little guitar that it would lead to the fruition of the child band "Harry and the Headhunters," who had little success in their early years, but later charted with two minor punk rock hits.
The Hassenfeld Brothers and their friend Brian had developed a fun activity for parties and picnics, but after this particular day - when Henry got scuffed on some gravel and Herman found ticks in some undesirable places - they developed a mat for it along with a spinner and the immortal game Twister was born!

Fernando tried to put forth a new dance called "The Gimp" at Lucinda's fall fling, but she wasn't having it and insisted that everyone stick to the cha-cha whenever possible...
Things became a bit overwhelming at Cynthia's birthday party what with all the presents and the kids and the noise, but cousin Janet (top left) managed to keep her cool throughout with an occasional refreshment consisting of vodka, triple sec, lime juice and Tang...
Both husbands were proud of their wives' new enterprise Pedazo-Cabello Designs, but Ernesto couldn't help wishing in the back of his mind that they'd come out with a men's line of wigs next season...

Wally could make heads turn in his usual macho guise, but he found that he could positively stop traffic as Wanda after 10:00pm!
Bengt, Anneli, Anneka and Bertil had the wild notion to form a singing act and, using their first initials, go by BAAB, but were distraught upon hearing about ABBA, so they abandoned their plans in dismay...
Ensign Gerber was petrified of having to go to the bathroom during his long overnight watch period, during which he was not allowed to leave his post, so eventually he got creative under his uniform...

Randall Dean wanted one thing for Christmas and that was a pet monkey. When he got Carmine, he was simply over the moon, but he did have to step up his paper route a bit in order to keep the household stocked with extra bananas...
And so Clarissa sorted through her album collection until she found just the right music to play in the background while the telephone repairman came to check her lines... (If you're wondering, it was "You Can Ring My Bell" by Anita Ward.)
With Rico still on the mend from his bout with malaria, his friends thought he could use a little pick me up, so they arranged a swinging party with all sorts of wild, colorful people to help bring the pink back to his cheeks.

Anita thought it was crazy enough when Bert asked her to grab an orange from the spot he'd hidden it, but she really lost it when he told her he wanted the peach that she herself was hiding!
Ivy's family loved to gather around the converted dining room-turned-music hall and listen to her play their new Kimball organ. Unfortunately, the only song she was in any way adept at was "How'd You Like to Spoon with Me," which became wearisome the twentieth time...
Rocky and Cliff liked to use the soft sand of the beach on which to practice some of their Boxing Club moves...
 BONUS PIC!
...in fact, they soon discovered that Rocky enjoyed being "taken down" more than either of them had previously realized!

It took the better part of two days, but Hugh (aka - "Captain Smooth") was able to arrange all his record albums in order of romantic success. The top shelf could break down the walls of resistance, the middle shelf led to seduction and the bottom shelf was filled with great rhythms!
Alexander wanted to build his tan "all over" before his upcoming pleasure trip to Brazil, but it became an issue trying to fit into the small rectangle of sun that was afforded his condo balcony while also avoiding the prying eyes of his neighbor, Miss Pruntackle...
The early days of Jerry ventriloquist act were lean and unsuccessful indeed. It wasn't until about two and a half years after this, when he added his dummy pal Larry that things really fell into place...

Louie and the Lean-Tos were a moderate success with gigs at the Jaycees, the Kiwanis Club and, as shown here, Boy's Club of America, but Myron (third from the left) was deemed just a little too rock & roll for the otherwise serene band and was let go after eight months...
The warm sun, spring air and just general feeling of spontaneity led Sybil to allow one strap to fall off the shoulder in the hopes that it might attract a suitor at the 4th Annual River Rock Garden Brunch.
Thanks to some recent crude oil spills in the gulf near their seaside home, some swimmers (such as Giordo and Papillo, shown here) had to do a soap-down before exiting the water after their daily strokes.

Onlookers quaked during the first meeting between the ultra-conservative Richard M. Nixon and acid-rock guitarist and singer Jimi Hendrix, but the two actually got on quite well together and even went out for a late breakfast at Shoney's.
Sisters Dominique and Genevieve looked forward to performing their folk numbers as after dinner entertainment and, thankfully, didn't see that great aunt Edna and great uncle Earl never once stopped chatting throughout the set!
Henri got the shock of his life when he discovered that he'd entered the spa section meant for ladies rather than gents, though it was nothing compared to the surprise that Lisa and Carol got when they entered the outdoor whirlpool and found him lollygagging in the water!

During their student trip to Bardstown, KY, Jack asked the bus driver to hold up a moment because he needed to get into the luggage area and grab a belt. The driver didn't realize until some shenanigans later that it was actually a belt of bourbon!
File photo of the short-lived group L. Bowe and the Florscheimers.  Their spirited mix of music and choreography was cut short when several of the members began to experience debilitating joint pain.
One of the perks of being among the six finalists in the Miss Lower Detroit Pageant was the inclusion of an office tour at Knight & Daye Printing Company, where one lucky lady would be offered a position in their secretarial pool!

10/19/17

Darleen and Conrad made great activities directors at Trippin Falls Resort & Hide-A-Way, but things did take a brief downward turn when they staged The Limbo just a hair too close to the deep end of the pool...
Frankie loved lounging in the crook of this mature tree in his parents' backyard, but there was one pesky limb that blocked his view of neighbor Diane's bedroom window, so he took a saw too it one afternoon.
It took Estelle months to find just the right cotton swim cap to match her bathing ensemble (which also happened to match her and Harvey's boat), so she was downright furious the day after this snapshot was taken to find that her husband had used it as a chamois to wipe lake water off the sides of his prized possession!
BONUS PIC: He thought he'd grown out of it long ago, but sophomoric shenanigans with his male classmates on the campus of Big Rock University started to reignite certain stirrings for Clinton...

8/17/17

Barry Beigshe tried so hard to incorporate the colorful ways of Lynette into his life, but in the end there were simply too many differences between them for it to last beyond a couple of months.
And so an otherwise boring party sprang to life when Robby and Leesa leapt to their feet for a spirited dance during Meco's disco "Theme from Star Wars." Unfortunately, this ultimately resulted in the demise of Robby's mom's porcelain teacup collection...
Chad, Joaquin and Kevin enjoyed their day of snorkeling tremendously with the one caveat; they couldn't yet figure out how to breathe through the apparatus and slurp Michelob at the very same time, so they had to take frequent breaks...

3/28/17

What started out as a happy Christmas for Dorothy Gayle was seriously tempered by having this poorly mounted light fixture slip through the ceiling and bean her on the head during "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear."
And so The Hawkins Family dropped off the briefcase containing $25,000 at the edge of the dock and sure enough, 20 minutes later, there was little Louise safely deposited back at the lagoon, thus ending a terrifying weekend at Pirate's Cove...
Regardless of the fact that they'd all begun together four years earlier, this was the night that the other members of Acid Head decided that they were going to have to let Gladys go because her musical taste was headed in a whole different direction than theirs.

2/9/17

A lot of poor college students played music, did stunts or magic acts in the street for enough money to make ends meet, but Darryl realized he didn't even have to bother with any of that and could rake in the dough by wearing his running togs and looking "available" to certain passersby.
Coley and the Peps were a star attraction during the Stars on Ice outdoor tour, but there was that one time in Houston where they wound up in slush up to their ankles by about the time of their third show of the day...
Yes, they all may have looked cute and innocent in their square dancing gear at Perkin's prior to heading to their Friday Night Falderal, but generally after 10:30, "swing your partner" took on a racier meaning for both The Keys and The Djarrs...
