This year for the Kiwanis fall fundraiser, a few of the wives got together and put on a show of 1920s song and dance, which some of the more critical attendees dubbed, "Thoroughly Dismal Dottie..."

It was already tough to get a good seat for the parade, but Chuck and his buddies (including crazy Ted) strove to get a great vantage point because they knew that one of the convertibles was going to contain lovely Karen Weston, that year's Miss Persimmon Grove.

Wendra never wanted to join her husband Charlie on his Sunday afternoon fishing trips, especially after a Saturday morning trip to Veronique's for a wash 'n set, but when she found the right headgear, she relented and came along with no carping...

And so Stuart was successful in smothering his pesky fiancee Elyse and almost had her buried until her twin sister Elaine suddenly appeared... or was it vice-versa?!

And so with some creative dexterity, teen singing idols Paolo and Dimitri were able to evade a pack of screaming teenage girls who'd been chasing them down the back streets of Padua for an autograph (or more!)

Jan loved her job as night hostess at The Bamboo Lantern, but had been repeatedly warned not to smoke in her synthetic and highly flammable uniform...

Ever since Jeanette was fatally injured in a typewriting accident, Trixie had prayed for a sign from above that she made it to heaven and finally one day, Jeanette returned to the office briefly in her new form of an angel...

Raggedy Ann had enjoyed a long, busy day of playing, but as it was now 4:45pm, she knew to clean up her room as her mother had warned her to make sure she did so before she got home or she'd beat the stuffing out of her!

Patrice was thrilled to finally win back her pre-pregnancy figure after giving birth to Stanley, whose 17lb, 11oz birth weight had set a record down at Broadwood County General Hospital.

All of the family tried to be polite when visiting Angie's little sister Francesca and hoped that she would soon grow out of the awkward and decidedly unattractive phase she was going through at this time...

Having failed to establish a relationship with Tiger Lily, Peter Pan found love in an unlikely place when he took a wrong turn and landed on Werewolf Island!

Pinnochio lied to the doorman about his age in order to gain entry to the nightclub and it was the first of several fibs that would have his nose extending to over a foot long by the end of the night!

After the meeting took place, Chet began to wonder if he had misheard his neighbor Lawrence when he asked him to come over one afternoon and compare "duck" size...

Day one of sitting alone with his son Tad, Bryan had had his shirt spat-up on, his pants riddled with stewed carrots and now he felt the unhappy sensation of an overloaded diaper oozing onto his shorts!

Marjorie looked forward each month to her latest issue of Cat Fancy magazine, but so did Serena, so they always had to cuddle up and browse through it together...

Helena like Arizona just fine except that the sun really bled all the color out of her red hair, so when no one was around she utilized some protection against the harsh rays...

Andy and George always looked forward to Beach Day with their company Munsingwear, but they found the picnic tables so hard to sit on. Fortunately, Jason didn't mind it at all when they used him instead!

For their 30th reunion at Brentwood High School, it became very clear who had fallen to a life of crime, who'd had a little too much work done and who'd become a rather loose woman...

Ellen Anne and Roger were pleased enough with how their engagement pictures turned out after their photo shoot at Skidmore Aviary Habitat & Preserve, but Roger did wish he'd have checked the bench for bird droppings before sitting there in his white pants...

Millicent had a tender rear after having "tripped" on the stairs, hitting each one on the way down, and tried to blame her doll Sabrina for it, but her parents weren't having any of it.

Cathie had a terrific time at prom and as it turned out, she loved her date Herschel's hairdo so much she went out the next week and had hers cut and permed identically!

Angelique was new in town and more than finicky about which available local gents she would deign to attend dinner and a movie with, so she held a sort of backyard audition, allowing her to get a better grip on her options...

Everyone at MaryBeth's pajama party wondered why Emily had come to the house wearing a heavy trench coat, but once in the bedroom it became clear that she'd smuggled in some party beverages, one of which she'd taken a healthy swig of already!

The waiting room for Dr. Morrow's busy practice afforded all sorts of interesting sights and proved that he'd made a smart decision in diversifying his specializations in med school!

Yes, JoJo had fun chasing down that skunk in the backyard, but oh was he paying for it now... When the tomato juice failed to get rid of the scent, Steven and his mother Phyllis felt it necessary to run him through the washing machine (on gentle) with some Ivory Snow detergent!

Harmon had done nothing but sit and hiss at his owner Cathy's mysterious new interloper until finally she decided to pick him up and introduce the two formally. Thereafter, Harmon developed a bit of an unhealthy infatuation with the clock (which he nicknamed, "Simone!")

While all the shipwrecked seamen from the U.S.S. Pipedream had been praying that some food or other helpful supplies might wash ashore, the weren't exactly disappointed when a case of Hamm's beer was suddenly deposited onto the beach!

Though Mildred won scads of compliments for her Sunday morning ensemble, she couldn't help but grit her teeth that she'd lent her sister Mabel her pink and yellow purse for a VFW dance several months prior and never got it back...!

Anjanette knew that Chet got more lovey-dovey the tipsier he became so she brought home one of the best wines that they sold at the Piggly-Wiggly and served it up in a tall tumbler!

Ferdie and Vanessa thought they would really do things up grandly at their October nuptials by dressing all the wedding party in crushed velvet, but they hadn't counted on an especially hot Indian summer, which drove the interior of the church up to more than 85 degrees on the big day!

It was already a contentious luncheon between Lorraine, Vic and Donna Mae, but things really got ugly when Donna Mae glared at Lorraine while asking Vic how he could toss her aside for "some cheap Martha Washington wannabe!"
