7/21/14

This marks the 200th post of photos here at Krazy Kaptions! Thanks to all of my faithful readers, both of you, as we continue to gently rib those wonderful people and animals represented in these often-amazing pictures!
Times being so tough for The Munkeegrooms, eldest brother Snip came up with an ingenious way to save money. One 25-cent barbering manual was parlayed into a daisy chain of family haircuts, though it wasn't until his own hair was worked on by littlest brother Hack that the plan was abandoned...
Therese managed to have fun at the new Timberland Water Park in Scuffletown, Virginia, though a full day of enjoying the "rides" typically resulted in the need for a small tin of Band-Aids and a new swimsuit!
Randall liked to hang around outside Armleder's Clothing Store in the hopes that while the delivery men were distracted with some of the less attractive (and less realistic) mannequins, he might make off with one that suited his purposes better!
Chuck Belcher was proud that his parents allowed him to watch and feed little brother Heimlich ("Hymie" for short), until the day when he accidentally put corn starch into the bottle instead of formula...
Celeste had recovered surprisingly well from her accident, thanks to Dr. Picasso, though things still weren't exactly the way they'd been beforehand.  Nevertheless, she was able to do an awesome spider crawl and was always the first one chosen at picnics for the wheelbarrow race!
An Olympic hopeful from his earliest days, little Bart would run through several routines in the backyard, always forcing little sister Elsie to act as judge, which she did unstintingly if not enthusiastically...

Bertram and Hildegarde (and daughter Nan) loved to dine at The Matterhorn outdoor cafe, but knew from prior experience how bland the dishes could sometimes be, so they packed and brought their own salt and pepper...
Francois enjoyed the lap of luxury at his home with The Skinningtons, but could tell by the fate of Rex the bobcat that it didn't pay to cross the line when it came to their rules.
All was joyful at Camp Van Cleef until Captain Winston, a local pearl harvester, thought he spotted "three big ones that had escaped their shells" and cast his net out to grab them before anyone else could!
Nora Piddlebox liked to make things festive, but also didn't believe in spoiling her daughter Sara, so she made certain that the birthday cake was not the largest thing on the table...
Travis tentatively posed, this time standing on the bench, for a second photo with Streamy the Clown because the first attempt had involved being squirted square in the face by water from one of Streamy's daisy-shaped buttons!
Though they were desperate not to let anyone in on the fact that they felt something was terribly wrong, Carol Sue and Jack nonetheless had to contort themselves in trying to fully take in and comprehend Veronica's new hairdo as she arrived for Parcheesi Night.

His parents felt that it somehow made it easier on little Phillipe to have his iron mask fitted with bunny ears. That way people might be less threatened and more inclined to wave at him as they strolled by his window every day.
Kung Tao Win learned the hard way that too much driving in a convertible eventually caused his beard to grow off to one side, so for the next several months he would keep the top up unless he was on a road where the top speed was 25 mph.
Millard was so militant when it came to being on time that he showed up in The Gruens' back yard and began to play The Wedding March on his accordion even though no guests were even seated yet! This was because the bride Cecilia had locked herself in the guest bathroom due to a case of the jitters and was threatening not to be wed that day at all!
While Jimmy and Curt wished they'd never even brought baby brother Paul with them to visit Santa, Santa was wondering how he was going to clean off his knee before the next child arrived as well as whether Mrs. Claus had anything at home that might get a brown stain out of his suit!
April was in a frantic rush to get ready after Ted's call for a date and worried that two hours was never going to be enough time to get her hair properly jacked up for the evening.
Fewer people than one might think objected to Ned's swimming in only his Munsingwear jockey shorts. The chief complaint was that this was not even his own pool, but Chuck and Irma Danskin's two blocks down the street!

7/14/14

After weeks and months of enduring condescending sneers from the two rhinestone-collared poodles that lived one block down from her, Matilda could now take pleasure in knowing that it was her turn to gloat, for she had the largest and most elaborately decorated doggie bed in Shepherdsville.
Hiram came so close to winning the 3rd Annual Mr. Private Parts Contest at Fort Bragg, but his ill-advised sock garters resulted in runner-up status. Jim (middle) came in third and for the second time in a row, Chet took top honors.
True, it had been forty long years since they first founded the Abernathy Del Sarte Clog-Jigging Society, but reunions had continued to provide merriment for Velda, Mary Sue, Patricia and Lilianne ever since.
Kelly had been instructed to scrape the bottom of the marina for sunken treasure, but was saddened to find that after 20 minutes of diving the only thing she came up with was a cranky little boy named Patrick who would soon become her adoptive brother!
A rare moment of peace and docility for little Lucifer, who ordinarily drove his mother, Mrs. Samhain, to distraction with a whole series of mischief and mayhem...
This was quite a big day for little Kevin, who was christened once at the church and then christened once more by Terrence on the floor of the living room!

After a long day of buffalo hunting (wings were his favorite part), Chief Iron Eyes Colby liked nothing more than to retire to the pool for a little R & R along with a refreshing glass of sarsaparilla.
Though not credited for it in most history books, it was young Davy Crockett who popularized shorts for men, since trailblazing tended to get particularly hot during the dog days of July and August.
Vera Louise had no choice but to admit that this was certainly one of her daffier blind dates, but in the final analysis it was also one of the most memorable and fun!
After a long winter and spring with her customary fire engine red locks, Ann tried "Sun-In" for a more lively shade to get her through the active and bright summer months.  Her friend Bev was skeptical, but her husband Andy approved and that was all that mattered...
Her record deal was set to expire at midnight, but after a previous rough night Bonnie just wasn't up to dressing and heading into the studio. Instead she laid down some vocal tracks at home and had them delivered to the music editor by special messenger.
And so, once again, The Pompano Beach Pincher struck when given the opportunity. Being face down, Mavis wasn't able to get a good look at him, but unfortunately for him, nearby Rowena hadn't actually been asleep and could give police an accurate description of the culprit. (That was, of course, unless he promised to come by and pinch her, too!)
Bonus Photo:
So long as the dispute over property lines continued, Mrs. Pecker encouraged her son Pete to "water" their neighbor Mr. Dixon's lawn until there was scarcely any remaining remnant of green grass!

7/9/14

...And so Mrs. Treacher found out the hard way what a mistake it was to leave Goldie and Midnight in the house alone together while she shopped downtown.
Unconventional, yes, but Christopher was thrilled when his mother acquiesced and baked him the Dolly Devil's Food birthday cake he'd been wishing for since the same time last year when she'd presented him with one featuring The Incredible Hulk...
Thus, the question of what would be viewed on television that Saturday morning was settled between Sharon and her little brother Hogan. "Captain Video" it was!
Mary Beth enjoyed growing up in Teensyville, but as the years wore on, it began to dawn on her that perhaps she didn't fit in with her fellow townspeople as much as she thought she had. Two years later, she decided that she and her birthplace had somehow grown apart.
As the afternoon wore on, Rufus started to wish with all of his canine heart that Albert had learned even one more song on the banjo besides "Beautiful, Beautiful Brown Eyes" as this one was wearing thin to the point of depression.
Not only was Marguerite ecstatic that the old gang from Billy Smart's Circus had come en masse to help celebrate her 80th birthday, but she was also highly impressed that they'd arrived to the occasion in one two-seater Corvette!

7/7/14

Ever since their move to Taos, New Mexico, Almora had bemoaned the fact that it was always too warm for her to enjoy wearing her fur stole, but thankfully on this day the temperature dropped to a frigid 82 degrees, so she could unpack it!
Nola Clutterson was so pleased with her finds at the St. Bernadette Jumble Sale, even though she questioned whether or not she had room for everything in her efficiency. Sadly, the little owl that Barney had made her in ceramics class had to be moved aside and the new artwork did lead to the death of her sole plant in the room...
Hortense learned beforehand that if she were going to wish the cats a good night after enjoying a tuna salad for dinner, it was best to do so with the window CLOSED.
The unfortunate scenario of only one working bathroom at the Ashtabula Sunoco caused a myriad of problems and concerns for both The Gassmans and The Trotts on their way to judge the Northeast Ohio Chrysanthemum Festival.
Tommy liked nothing better after a hard day working at Stop & Go than to head into the yard and enjoy some grass while also playing with his basket...
Reggie simply couldn't face the idea of saying goodbye to Flaky the Snowman, so as the outside temperature soared to 47 degrees, he did what he had to do to preserve him. His mother Joyce was not pleased, however, to have lost $7.50 worth of groceries!

7/02/14

Holding Arthur on her right side led to a swollen eye for Simone, so she tossed him onto her left hip. If any more violence followed, he was going to have to be put back in his umbrella stroller...
Reba Mothersbaugh couldn't know that this snapshot of her simply having fun at Wednesday night bingo would later inspire her grandsons Mark and Bob to grow up and form Devo, utilizing this same sort of headgear in their act.
Amanda and Arturo readied for their very first indoor luau since returning from Oahu, though, as the sun began to set, guests on the left side of the dining table started to grouse about the fact that they couldn't clearly see what food was in front of them...
Valerie feared that a fancy candlelight dinner alone was not going to seal the deal and earn her an engagement ring, so she instituted a back-up plan and put her corset and strappy stilettos on underneath her maxi dress...
Sylvia could no longer guarantee that Woody would stay put while she threw supper together in the other room. So she had their neighbor Stan rig up a chain that would give Woody only a three-foot radius in which to travel unless Sylvia unhooked him...
After a series of mysterious disappearances at The Golden Nugget casino in Las Vegas, newly-hired private eye Charlie Townsend called in some undercover help in the form of Mary Beth, Trina and Diane. This worked so well that years later he reworked the concept and hired their daughters Sabrina, Jill and Kelly!
