Mary Beth knew that having her mother-in-law Irene over for supper once a week was a necessary evil, so she made do, but always with a highball upon her arrival and with two more after her departure! |
Melvin LOVED his new Velvet Elvis artwork, but since the top two lampshades on his light-stand interfered with his view of The King from that side of the room, he had them removed. |

As far as I'm concerned, every house should have fold-out lawn furniture in the living room area...
...a velvet painting of Elvis is just an added bonus!
In a perfect world, these pics would both be from the same house. Same ROOM!
I can understand why Melvin would remove the lampshades in the Velvet Elvis room and even the Virgin Mary and St Teresa figurines from the wood niches flanking Elvis, but the light switch plate too?

I think he was planning to make one in which The King is shown in one of his jumpsuits with his crotch right where the switch is. Then it's up for on or down for off! Fun...! Ha ha!
