3/5/14

Having known from the crib that she would one day be not only a pageant winner, but Miss America, Tina Faye began preparing long before she was eligible, even making brother Irwin practice driving her on a parade route!
Eager to celebrate the kick-off of their 1980 variety show "Pink Lady and Jeff," Mitsuyo and Keiko held a festive outdoor barbeque.  Unfortunately, the series was yanked off the air before all the ribs were even devoured...
Missy was fond of getting her own way, so when the family campsite lacked a proper seat for her, she simply had daddy Clinton saw a tree down to make one!
Break time at the canning plant would now become something of a torment for Haywood since his dentist blamed all those afternoon Cokes for the rampant tooth decay that forced several fillings and a mouthful of extractions.
All the firemen loved the surprise litter of mascots, but after this instance, they opted to keep only one male dog around instead of a male and female couple, for the city's budget didn't allow for Alpo to feed eight canines!
At the first sound of nuts and bolts dropping, Verdeen thought it was just some fool kids tossing gravel onto the roof of her ticket booth.  She knew different once the Ferris wheel cage came bursting through!

Ha! Good for you!! I think I may have watched one or two eps back in the day, but my sense of camp wasn't advanced enough to enjoy it at that time. Now I trawl youtube looking at old variety show clips, the worse, the better!

So, naturally, I had to go digging in my closet and pull out the album.

Am presently listening to their peppy disco version of Tom Jones' "Love Me Tonight"

And while in the closet, I came across my 2 Charo albums. She does an incredible painfully-cheesy version of The Love Boat theme. But would we want it any other way???

I went on youtube and found that version of Charo singing the theme from "The Love Boat." O... M... G...! Fun!
