11/9/17

Rex, Sheriff of Rhodes, Nevada, was darn tootin' proud that he could appoint his son Clifford as his deputy, but until the city kicked in a tad more money to the budget, there was only going to be one hat which they had to share for the time being...
Patty didn't wish for new Orlon dining room drapes on her birthday, but, after she tried to blow out her many candles and some of them toppled over, that's exactly what she needed!
Bernice and Jerrod Farvheimer seemed so nice and ingratiating at the Liberty Woods Memorial Day picnic that Alice never for a moment suspected that the drink they offered her was spiked...!

11/7/17

Things had been going along swimmingly for Adrienne, Crystal and Betsy at Camp Duncan until an alligator bit a hole in the side of their inflatable raft, putting an early end to their festivities (and potentially their lives!)
And so Javier returned to where Katy had been lying in the sand to find their towels, the cooler, his clothes and his car keys all gone. Apparently, his rendezvous in the dunes with Marco the lifeguard hadn't gone unnoticed after all...!
Despite his general interest in athletics and other outdoor activities, Roger simply couldn't help but break away from the other kids during their lake retreat in order to finish up one of the best page-turners he'd ever read, Harold Robbins' 79 Park Avenue.

11/2/17

Mary Beth knew that having her mother-in-law Irene over for supper once a week was a necessary evil, so she made do, but always with a highball upon her arrival and with two more after her departure!
Melvin LOVED his new Velvet Elvis artwork, but since the top two lampshades on his light-stand interfered with his view of The King from that side of the room, he had them removed.
Bud wanted a shot of Francine preparing their Sunday evening supper, but she was having none of it. Thing was, she actually looked prettier with the saucepan over her face so he had an enlargement made, cropped into an 8x10, and took it in to work for his desk!

10/31/17

Sheree enjoyed a whirlwind night, being crowned Miss Hydrangea at the Elks Lodge #471, but the next morning did have to acknowledge that sleeping in her tiara wasn't the most comfortable thing she'd ever done...
And so Mr. Nye found out the hard way that letting his basketball team drink a 1% beer or two after a game didn't mix well with his boys (who'd also managed to get into Mrs. Nye's handbag when she wasn't looking!)
LaVonne's stepfather said she could have a few friends over to their beach house while he and her mother went up to Boca Raton to shop and have dinner, so she put the word out!
Bonus Pic: Lonnie's stepdad also said he could have a few friends over to their beach house while he and his mother went up to Boca Raton to shop and have dinner, so he, too, put the word out!

10/26/17

Cathy got exactly what she wanted for Christmas, a Talky Tina doll, but somehow that very morning there seemed to be a distinct change in her, and there was right up until the house burnt down...
And so Rae Ellen learned the hard way not to pose between the wheels of heavy machinery at the Spring Flats Agriculture Expo, especially when the keys were still in the ignition!
As the holiday loomed, Wendell asked his wife Lenore what she might like for Christmas, but anything he might buy for her was gravy since she'd already arranged with Santa Claus to have her most coveted possession delivered to her stocking... a diaphragm!

10/24/17

Janetta was willing to risk her new poly-satin pants suit in order to hit the floor and pose with sister Jeanne next to Jeanne's Christmas tree, but she knew that eventually they were going to have to have a talk about how garland should be properly applied to the branches...
Tammy could hardly wait to introduce her new boyfriend Craig Javaman to her aunts, Polly and Maybelle, and it turned out that they actually liked him far more than she'd initially anticipated from the two hardened divorcees...
Jeremy was surprisingly interested in hearing all about Tanya's success with Mary Kay cosmetics, but Edd checked out only about 3 minutes in and proceeded to fiddle with his drink until the subject finally was changed.

10/19/17

Darleen and Conrad made great activities directors at Trippin Falls Resort & Hide-A-Way, but things did take a brief downward turn when they staged The Limbo just a hair too close to the deep end of the pool...
Frankie loved lounging in the crook of this mature tree in his parents' backyard, but there was one pesky limb that blocked his view of neighbor Diane's bedroom window, so he took a saw too it one afternoon.
It took Estelle months to find just the right cotton swim cap to match her bathing ensemble (which also happened to match her and Harvey's boat), so she was downright furious the day after this snapshot was taken to find that her husband had used it as a chamois to wipe lake water off the sides of his prized possession!
BONUS PIC: He thought he'd grown out of it long ago, but sophomoric shenanigans with his male classmates on the campus of Big Rock University started to reignite certain stirrings for Clinton...

10/17/17

Elaine took a moment for a quick photo op before the Miss Frostbite Pageant at Jade Garden, but her satin wound up wrinkled on one side when an unexpected spurt of fountain water got her on the right flank!
The first ever round of contestants on local UHF game show "The Price is Close" were generally pleased with the prizes offered, though, after three middling weeks, host Martin Winkerdale was replaced for not being able to work without a script in hand...
Shrapnel wasn't the only thing that Jimmy Parkinson brought back with him from The Philippines. Marita ended up being a far more pleasant memento of his days at sea during the war.

10/12/17

A very groggy Emily woke up Saturday morning with little memory of the booze-soaked night before, but, to both her relief and dismay, Vern the elevator man from her building was on hand in the bathroom to jog her memory!
And so, a scant four months after her brother Tad had run over her feet with the family car, Patty was once again ready to try venturing out again, but this time BEHIND the wheel!
Jonathan Triplett knew he had his work cut out for him if he wanted to be elected as the first gay mayor of Hot Springs, Arkansas, so he enlisted every attention-getting tactic he could dream up, including the Dozen Man March through the principle shopping district.

10/10/17

St. Patrick's Day crept up on Shannon so swiftly that she forgot her kilt was still at the dry cleaners, so she was forced to improvise an outfit on the fly before the big pub crawl that night.
As much as Rex was looking forward to a fun day at the lake, he hadn't forgotten the nasty sunburn he'd received on the tops of his feet the month before, so he took steps to make sure it didn't happen again.
Regardless of the fact that a rousing cocktail party was happening at the house of her son and daughter-in-law, with whom she lived, Nadine had no intention of missing this week's episode of Medical Center on the only TV in the house!
