6/17/13

Ferdie had attended countless golf tournaments in his life and career, but there was something about the fringe benefits at the Red Shell Beach Open that particularly appealed to him.
It had been a lovely holiday for The Nicholsons, but by far their favorite gift was Marcy the Robot Girl, who filled in the gap between teenaged Jennifer and little Bonnie. The only drawback was that her cord was only long enough to allow her to stay in one small room at a time.
True, Frank had informed them that the back seat was broken and they'd have to sit "up front" on the way to Yosemite, but Clara and Betty Sue hadn't counted on quite this windy and bumpy a ride!
As the Callaways headed off on their weekend jaunt to Berea, they felt confident that they'd left enough carrot juice, animal crackers, hominy and Ora-Jel in Oliver's playpen to get him over the hump.
Excitement in the household was palpable as Marlene readied herself for day one at the Hathaway Secretarial Institute. Knowing that her feet would be sore after a day of tottering around in a pencil skirt and stilletto heels (both hallmarks of 1960s secretarial training), she'd even toted along a pair of nearly-flat sandals for the walk and bus ride home.
Clarence and Hettie were obscenely proud of their new grandson Waldo and felt that, in time and with training that would prevent him from leaving hand-prints on their sliding glass door, he would graduate to being allowed inside the house.
This was the last time that Lt. Carmichael sent the knuckle-headed Private Dickie Twinkleman to "water" the trees at the Smithson's Compound...
