Lars promised Svetlana that if she was a good girl and kept the cuffs of her pants clean and dry during their trip to Wintergarten Market she could have a large Bavarian pretzel as reward.
Marianne was so excited over her new avocado green appliances and coordinating sunshine yellow dishware that she felt the need to match it herself, even during the morning hours when she was still in her housecoat (and glasses.)
Rosalie was so proud of Bert being appointed 3rd Deputy Mayor of Springfield that she insisted upon a new ensemble from head to toe for the swearing in ceremony!

In what started out as a solely money-making arrangement, Gypsy organ grinder Salvatore later began to have romantic feelings for Chimene. However, he still wasn't able to establish 100% trust in the relationship, so he kept her on a pretty short leash...
After just a few too many sudden stops by Ida, with resultant hurtling around and landing, Pepper put in a request for more safety-oriented seating in her owner's car, making trips to the vet both more comfortable and also less frequent!
Maggiana preached the benefit of vitamin E to her offspring for the production of healthy (not to mention voluminous) hair, but she couldn't escape the feeling that they weren't completely listening or believing her.

Listen and learn from Maggiana!

Lonetta enjoyed the Greater Foley County Jaycees picnic for the most part, her opinion swaying downward, however, when an adventuresome game of hide and seek found her and her hairdo caught in some brambles near these woods...
Lady wasn't about to let new motherhood prevent her from the treat of an afternoon at the lake shore, so she merely tossed Hubie into the basket next to her and rode along with Jennifer as always!
Cherilyn split the side out of her hot pants during the big game against Midvale, but tried to decorously cover it as much as possible with one of her oversized pom-poms until she could have the cheerleading coach Mrs. Singer fix it at halftime.

Somehow President Richard M. Nixon received a lion's share of the credit for establishing U.S.-Chinese relations, but a little known fact is that a young Abraham Lincoln also did his part decades prior!
Danette was so thrilled that Stu had finally hired her to sing a few numbers during Happy Hour down at The Purple Pussycat that she splurged on a new dress for the occasion despite the fact that it cost more than she would be paid (not counting tips!)
Everyone had a ball with Enrico's pinata during his birthday party. The trouble began when next door neighbor Mrs. Francine did some gardening in a hat similar to this and Enrico became confused, chasing after her with this very same stick!

In recent months Chet's confidence had been slipping a bit and so, after a late-night viewing of  Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, he opted to invest in a mirror with which he could confirm what he already suspected and move on to a terrific day...
Training was unusual to say the least at the Salzburg School of Aviation, but Charles' parents wanted him to have the best preparation possible as he decided to pursue a pilot's license.
Ty thought he was all set for that first scuba dive off the coast of Rear Sound, but - as instructor Lloyd fortunately pointed out prior to submersion - his hoses weren't hooked up in all the right spots!

As the fur on her favorite winter coat had worn through and Jennifer had an important first date coming up, she wanted the local tailor to redo it as soon as possible. He asked her to bring her fur of choice to his shop, but she had trouble making up her mind which would work best!
Another scorcher at Camp Hanes during a photo op. Private Marx, front row center, decided to fashion himself a fake mustache while Lt. Munsing, back row second from the right, declined to even slip on pants for the occasion.
Thomasina just knew she was going to get at least an honorable mention for her striking hybrid carrots at this year's Harvest Moon Festival. And her husband Clem thought they were great for separating the corn from the mashed potatoes and gravy on his dinner plate.

The ventriloquist act of Levon and Celie came thisclose to hitting it big on a national scale (especially after an appearance on "The Joe Franklin Show"), but after one fateful night when Celie began laughing and blinking while Levon was on the other side of the room, the pairing was finished for good...
Marvin was thrilled when his neighbor Sabrina DeLight upgraded from shades to newfangled mini-blinds because there was just enough space in between the slats for him to catch a glimpse of her if he held the binoculars just right!
Reverend Neil Downhonor began to feel some resentment coming from his flock when he hired a new organist to accompany his weekly messages. Some of them felt that Regine was just a tad too fast for their tastes...

During their student trip to Bardstown, KY, Jack asked the bus driver to hold up a moment because he needed to get into the luggage area and grab a belt. The driver didn't realize until some shenanigans later that it was actually a belt of bourbon!
File photo of the short-lived group L. Bowe and the Florscheimers.  Their spirited mix of music and choreography was cut short when several of the members began to experience debilitating joint pain.
One of the perks of being among the six finalists in the Miss Lower Detroit Pageant was the inclusion of an office tour at Knight & Daye Printing Company, where one lucky lady would be offered a position in their secretarial pool!

It's not that William had some affinity for working such long hours down at the office at such a young age, but his pal Petey simply didn't care for kibble dog food and in order to afford canned, it was off to the bus stop and on to the grindstone!
Students down at the Midol-Vasson School for Cosmetology only had two or three cuts that they were able to master. Fortunately, Bev wanted the very same one that her stylist Gwendolyn had given herself!
Dennis and Mary Lou enjoyed visiting with their pals The Sullivans, but there never seemed to be enough seating available for everyone and Mary Lou had an aversion to sitting directly on the floor...
