And so yet another concert given by The Bakersfield Bluebells was marred by the sudden, uninvited presence of Jerry, a baritone who could rarely resist popping in to back up his girlfriend Karla!
From these humble beginnings, Olympic bronze medalist Sherry Lou Hetton practiced her gymnastic routines any time possible, though on more than one occasion she had to endure a browbeating from Grandma Hetton who would holler at her through the window for taking the still-damp laundry down and resting it on a nearby trashcan lid!
The last time his son Russell brought him to the lake at Maidenform Peak, Wyoming, Howard suffered undo sunburn on his pecs, so there was no way he was going to repeat that mistake again!

Charles Lindburgh got a lot of acclaim and mileage out of his famed transatlantic flight, but what forever seemed to fall through the cracks when it came to credit was the fact that Mama Lindburgh had so much faith in her little flyer that she'd turned her front yard into a practice runway years before he grew up and made history!
Vernon Schicklewhite raised an eyebrow or two during his campaign for Water Commissioner by forever bringing along his intern Sherilee whose chief purpose seemed to be keeping things like his shoes well-polished.
Gary, Harry, Larry and Barry were so relieved when they realized that Terry's Speedcoach slept five comfortably... until they realized that Terry has already promised one of the coveted berths to his dog Perry!

Jerry, Donna and Jack had a great time at the lake until a spirited game of Rock-Paper-Scissors over who was going to get to use the Giddyap Horsey Float first led to discord and, ultimately, a deflated friendship...
Bryon had endured a rather rough time from his classmates during 5th grade, but he knew that once everyone got a load of his all new collection of sportswear from Van Leunen's, he'd be the hit of the 6th grade class and his worries were behind him!

Always on the make, Irv thought he could camouflage himself against this busy wallpaper long enough to sidle up to the two lovelies who were waiting in the lobby of Anwar's Buffet & Grille, but unfortunately he had forgotten to clean his glasses after frying bacon that morning!
As luck would have it, Miranda chose the wrong day (or the right day, depending on one's point of view!) to try out her new Rudi Gernreich monokini.
Verna Lou didn't trust that Angie was prepared enough for her first day at John Algiers Modeling Academy, so she opted to demonstrate a few pointers for her before she left for the 8:10 bus.
Bonus Pic: Unfortunately, Verna Lou kept at it until 8:05 and Angie found herself racing to the bus stop in order to avoid missing it altogether!

One thing Aunt Helen loved about her new wash 'n wear pantsuit was that it never bore any sign of road wear when she hopped on her hog and drove down from Elder Rapids for a visit.
Sylvania had taken all she could stand from Bert. There was no way in hell she was heading out the door to the Barry White concert until she was certain that her hair was as smooth as she'd intended, especially since they were in the third row!
Willie had suffered many a bout of urinary disfunction, thanks to an enlarged prostate, but for some reason this particular trip to Rising Springs really exacerbated the problem for him and he found himself seeking the men's room time and again...

Even though he'd pushed hard for the program, Mr. Donovan was nevertheless anxious on the first day he was to teach Sexual Education at Filmore Elementary, so he created Hymie the Happy Sperm to help ease some of the tension.
Alphonso knew that his new pal Christoph was sensitive about his diminutive height around new people, so he thought that a costume party would be just the right time to introduce him around. Unfortunately, he stepped on Christoph's foot just as they were about to leave and wound up unable to attend after all...
Johnny couldn't understand how he ran out of film so quickly at Edith's Canasta Party, but when he developed the film - and found eight almost-black photos of his zipper and two abstract shots of his whiskery chin - he figured out what had happened...

It drove Mr. Needlebaum crazy all night long to hear the neighbor's cat wailing outside his window and in time he got up to shake a rolled-up magazine at it, but ultimately realized that it was probably going to take something more than that...
So here they were once more on an extended trip, this time to Cumberland Gap, and Harry had the displeasure of finding out that Gladys had brought cheap toothpaste that was not approved by The American Dental Association...
Having unsuccessfully scoured the bottom of the tree looking for her present, Nora was flabbergasted to finally turn around and see that Sylvester had since wheeled it in. A brand new, electric blue Kirby sweeper!

In one of the great injustices of his life in the 1970s, Mario finally got his bachelor pad decked out precisely the way he'd been wanting it, but then realized he had an allergy to plastic!
She'd suspected it for most of her childhood up to this point, but it wasn't until she witnessed it in writing that Ellen realized how little her mother really cared about any of the details surrounding her, up to and including her name!
Attendance at the weekly Fernhedge Country Club dances increased dramatically when they finally offered babysitting services on-site, so that there was far less trouble finding someone to watch the little ones on a Saturday night!
