Although it had taken far longer than she'd planned to shimmy into her evening gown and attach her hair just the way she wanted to, Felice still took a moment to stop in the living room for a quick snapshot before heading down to Tommy Haffner's and the annual Miss Swizzle Stick pageant.

Ardelle had imagined an elegant, sophisticated portrait by the pool for use in her portfolio, but this balloon was permanently popped when the Reeves boys from next door, Stevie, Jack and Arnold, chose this particular moment to accept the standing invitation to come over and swim any time they wished to!

Mary Lynn no longer trusted Tisha to swim alone after she'd disobeyed and gone over to the "deep end" of their above-ground pool without the benefit of Darryl the floating duck, so she now had to stand guard in the water whenever the little girl felt like taking a dip.

Gossip had already begun to spread at the 7th Annual Purity Brunch because Patricia not only had incorporated black into the traditional white ensemble, but had also chosen a (gasp!) button-front dress that could be easily-accessed by lascivious male students on campus!

One thing Roscoe always loved was any time Reggie was given something messy, like tapioca or spaghetti sauce, to eat because he knew he got to be part of the clean-up!

Albert enjoyed the occasional puff on his authentic, native-hand-carved pipe and felt little guilt about it, since he barely had the wind in his lungs to draw the smoke all they way up the narrow, elongated stem of the darn thing!
