True enough, Patrice was officially in mourning after the unexpected death of her wealthy husband Herman, but that didn't mean she couldn't perk up her widow's weeds with a new bauble or two...!

Bernice had made the fatal error of crossing the inlet at low tide and now faced the specter of possibly getting her suit (or maybe even hair!) wet as she needed to make her way back to the other side for lunch!

Carol understood that her mother was punishing her for her behavior at the mall the weekend before by making her do all the household ironing, but had to balk when she was also asked to spray starch each and every piece, including the bathroom towels!

Angela was quite pleased with all the items she'd purchased from Spiegel catalogs, but none more so than the His & Hers Karate Pajamas (in Ruby) that helped put a little more zest into her marriage to Chet.

Elvira liked taking the bus to visit her daughter Janie because she had a large deck on which they could share a pack of Pall Mall's and overlook the swamp.

For the twelve and a half years that they'd worked together side-by-side, Jim had sort of existed in the shadow of the more popular Steve, so he was quite thrilled to receive top-billing on the day of their dual birthday party at the office!

Stefanie had spent nearly all of the budget for her wedding dress (which she sewed herself) on the expensive eyelet fabric, so when it came to the veil, she was forced to scrimp and use only a cluster of shoulder length tulle...

Gertrude prided herself on keeping the family smartly dressed and also stylishly appointed. In order to avoid her boys Ernie and Cliff from appearing at all nerdy, she only allowed them to either wear eyeglasses OR a pen in their pocket, but never both...

Having learned their lesson the weekend before when Charlene used White Rain to help get the bar-b-que fire going, she and Arletta now kept a bucket of water handy in case of emergency...

None of the recruits was particularly pleased about undergoing a close haircut upon induction, but Randy was especially afraid that he was going to have to have his done by the barber Stefan, who made it a point to trim ALL the hair on his clients' bodies!

Initially, Shelli, Renee and Carole were thrilled to arrive at Stewardess School for American Airlines, but it wasn't long before Shelli was informed that her personal style was more suited to Southwest and she was sent packing...

As Private Meyer was taking way too long to getting all the hot dogs ready, Stu and Jack put their once-ready paper plates aside and opted instead for a pre-meal brew...

Easily one of the worst things about these pre-dawn drills was the fact that 50% of the time, Dick hastily threw his shorts on backwards yet had no choice but to proceed that way until it was over!

Every Saturday morning, Henri would plan and prepare a hearty, tasty, romantic picnic... then wait in the park until someone came along who he could invite to share it!

Krysthine knew she was in the middle of nowhere when, after four different stops for a cold drink, she was unable to locate either Pepsi or Coke. After declining Shasta, Faygo and Ale-8-One, she finally relented and had a lukewarm RC...

During her first overnight stay at a Motel 6, Cathie was worried about unwanted intruders in the night and worked on how to make her teddy bear seem more ferocious to anyone who might slip in the door.

All her friends were willing to spring for dinner, drinks and dancing, but Mary Beth insisted that all she wanted for her bachelorette party was a day of sun, sand and surf at the nearby beach, all overseen by her maid of honor Annette.

Garry heard that Right Guard was in search of a new, mustached hunk to appear in one of their upcoming ad campaigns, so he got ready and set the self timer on his camera in order to send in a photo. However, in the end, the company went with someone else...

Carolmarie was elated with all her birthday presents, which included a whole wardrobe of clothing, accessories, a smart purse, grooming supplies and a not-so-subtle hint that her parents were ready for her to move on and move out: the board game Careers!

Elaine thought that all the new construction around her town house was nice and all with all its concrete, but the search for appropriate green space became longer as she and Toby went for their morning walk!
