Rufus noticed that that mailmen in Shady Grove had become a lot more fleet of foot lately than they once were, so he took matters into his own hands and kept a race car nearby with the keys in it; always ready for that 3:15pm chase!

Allison left no stone unturned in her pursuit of the Miss Arkansas crown, even going so far as to have her gloves dyed to match her hair...

As Jansen and Heather climbed further and further up Mt. Gluteous, Heather counted on being closer to the sun, but had no clue that she'd wind up this close to a moon!

Things weren't exactly hopping in Riverside... Just about the only entertainment for Sandi and the gang was hanging out at the Jolly Taco and occasionally giving each other a surprise kick in the burrito...!

After a long day of alterations and sewing on sequins, Nick was plum worn out and suddenly unsure if Nita was going to be able to make her appearance down at The Apricot Worm as planned.

When Harold didn't show up as planned, even after 45 minutes had gone by, Jessamyn started to wonder if she wasn't just a bit too demanding in insisting that he take her to The Golden Lantern for surf & turf on just their second date...

Brenda's work convention in Atlantic City was now in its sixth day and Joe's time as Mr. Mom was beginning to fray around the edges, with few viable things to wear and pots and pans piling up in the sink...

Years and years of being the only single guy at family gatherings had led Ron into counseling. Dr. Swift suggested that Ron bring "Nancy" to the next get-together, with instructions that the family ought to try their best to make her feel welcome...

Things got rather down to the wire for Bonita the night of the Peach Festival Dinner Dance when it was only 10 minutes until her date Jesse's arrival and Aunt Fern still hadn't finished her special hairdo...!

Lacking any real purpose in life at her age, Ione decided to become a certified lifeguard and work weekday mornings at the Clifton County YMCA, but before she took the test, she made Hiram practice floundering in their backyard swimming hole so she could see if she truly had the chops.

Erich worked third shift and as a result was a bit drowsy during his wedding ceremony to Silvana, thus, for the first time in anyone's memory, the initial toast was made with some piping hot black coffee!

Tailgating was fun anyhow, but Dick especially liked it when Terry Dean brought his car because the fog lights helped keep him from slipping off the hood in the wake of one too many brewskies...

Bobby loved the elaborate service station he received for his birthday, but he could barely get near the thing thanks to his father, so he decided to hike the price of gas to $0.45/gallon hoping Dad and his truck would stay the heck away!

Carole was proud of her baby girl the evening of the Silent Night Dinner Dance at St. Therese High School, but thought she might need one last bit of bling to really set off her Poly-Dacron gown. So she allowed her to remove one thing from the tree and add it to her ensemble.

Happy as Melody's big day turned out overall, Agnes (far left) was still miffed that Joyce had been selected Maid of Honor and thus was only too happy to allow Melody's nose to remain un-powdered in all the official pictures...

One of Uncle Stu's favorite dating gambits was to invite a lady friend, in this case Marian Lester, into his oversized rocker and demonstrate how he used to entertain all his buddies down at the Jaycees with a ventriloquist act. If they resisted by the time he tried to "pull their string," he knew he'd failed.

Everyone, even Bernice, thought that Marty's new "mustache" was hilarious... until she realized that the ribbon on her choker was somehow suddenly four inches shorter than last time!

Barry's friends weren't all that disturbed by the fact that his girlfriend Lou had a sort of masculine face. They were more concerned that all their recent dating had seemed to fill out her lower half at an alarming rate.

Private Calhoun was ordered to head over to the janitorial closet and straighten up everything he found inside, which became quite a challenge when he swiftly located fellow enlistee Dugan amid all the clutter...

Although Filbert loved his bath time more than practically any other part of the day, this time he had to endure the harping of his wife Suzanne, who had just finished a load of delicates and was ready to hang them along the shower railing to drip dry.

Charlotte wanted to enjoy one last bike ride and a picnic with Steve and Raffles before the new local ordinance requiring helmets went into place. From that day on, she merely roller-skated if she wads craving outdoor exercise.

And so Cliff continued to play the big man on campus while not realizing that the wave behind him was not going to tolerate his head being above water for more than a couple of seconds longer...

While Flossie and Red were delighted to have made it to the 50-year mark in their marriage, being reunited with their bridal party - Maid of Honor Helen and Best Man Stu - did stir up some bitter memories of when Flossie was found behind the gift table embracing with Stu during their reception!

There were several bad habits that Charlotte and Steve wanted to break Raffles of as the New Year began. One was his propensity for going potty in the living room. The other was mating with Charlotte's hair when it was resting on her wig-stand overnight.

Dani had always wanted to open her own business so The Modd Bodd was a no-brainer. It's just that her resident manager took objection to her opening it in her one-bedroom garden apartment...!

Jack had no intention of dating Thing from The Addams Family for more than one night, but in time he came around to the benefits of a long-term relationship and the two were a hot couple for about three years!
