Daniel insisted on making his immediate family spend most summer weekends camping, but his wife Trudi felt there was no need for them to look like pioneers during it! Thus, she always flossed up the premises, not to mention herself, before each fireside weenie roast.

Though she knew that virtually every Halloween party had that one guest who sort of sloughed off the costume, Marge was justified in hating what Ernesto came up with for the big night...

It was long in coming, but FINALLY the El Paso Senior Olympics added Bronco Busting as one of the categories of competition so Evelyn decided she would take part this year.

Farnum loved bath time and usually had a ball, but he could see the writing on the wall when Aunt Cecilia forgot her glasses and began heading to the sink with a large stack of greasy dinner dishes...!

King Neptune felt there was still pretty much life in this wife yet, but he considered making his next one a hairdresser who could do a better job of touching up his roots...

The roof really didn't need any maintenance, but that's what Angus told the wife and kids so that he could have a little down time in between all their needs and complaints!

Leroy asked Patrice what she'd done special that night in order to smoke the turkey, but she was afraid to admit that it had happened courtesy of their daughter-in-law Lorraine!

Thelma had requested something in cowhide for her birthday, but her cousin Jeanne misunderstood.

Neil made the mistake of letting Joey watch Lawrence of Arabia with the family at the drive-in and now all he wanted to do at home was play camel ride!

Brett had no choice but to acknowledge that Murphy's Law had struck again. He could only get a flat tire on the day he wore his new white chinos...!

Sherman loved it when affectionate and demonstrative "Uncle" Terry from next door came to visit on the nights when his mother's bridge club got together, though he sometimes became lodged in-between the friendly greetings...!

Audiences flocked to see the hit nightclub act Frankie Ravine and the Twelve Lovely Months, most never guessing that there wasn't an actual dame in the bunch!

And so Ramona was once again enraged that Fred took his coupe, which had far more headroom, and left the squatty compact car for her to take to work....

The folks at Midrange Dating Service had requested that Fern have a few portraits made for their files and love-match catalog, so she killed two birds with one stone while she and her sisters Rosemarie and Goldie were down at the arcade.

Commander Holmes wanted to give his wife Karen a tour of the island outpost he'd been stationed at for several months, but neglected to give his men ample warning!

Michelle really felt she'd found the right man in Harry Vines. She loved him, her daughters adored him and, hell, even the house plants had a thing for him!

Betty and Burt had wisely taken out a life insurance policy on their little girl Bernice many years before, but they truly didn't expect her to last as long as she had and some hefty bills had been piling up lately...!

With four offspring already and another one on the way according to Carole, Cliff was doubly glad that he was a dentist and could see to the orthodontia of his ever-increasing brood.

With things so slow at Cash Amburgy's Used Car Lot, Steve couldn't really afford a portrait sitting, but thankfully Verladeen had been able to take advantage of a promotion at Hardee's in which one could save up their receipts and turn them in for a complimentary 11" x 16".

Happy Independence Day

Roger and Sammy never minded volunteering for the St. Veronica's School for Girls' Fourth of July Pageant because it always seemed to give them a leg up later on when playing Post Office at various birthday parties...

The Donners were rightfully proud of their extravagant homemade July 4th parade float, though the driver, Uncle Jason, had to take special care during any sharp right or left turns!

Patty had to take her Independence Day sparklers out to the edge of the yard since Pam had opted to wear her new polyethylene bathrobe outside for the festivities...
