The first thing Alexander worried about when taking a desk job as a clerk was boredom, but in the end that turned out to be the least of his concerns...

Anne-Marie, still trying to work off some of her pregnancy weight, dashed home from Woolworth's and immediately tried to shimmy into her Playtex 18-hour girdle, but forgot to shield Conrad from the exhibition!

The Pinehursts were so proud of this year's tree that they immediately plopped Caesar in front of it for a quick photo, not realizing that he already had his eye on a Santa Claus "chew toy" near the top and that their decorations wouldn't even make it until the next morning!

Because their garden patch at Brickbat Apartments was so limited in size, Mary Louise and Stan often had contretemps over which vegetables ought to be planted. The real debate kicked in over rutabaga.

Lieutenant Nguyen had many various tools at his disposal for making prisoners talk, from the angry pawing of Red Squirrel to the seductive allure of Ming Ling to even the deceptively soothing touch of White Hare.

What was supposed to be a quiet evening at home between Sally Rae and Herb became altogether too quiet when she mixed him a Harvey Wallbanger that sent him to the floor after just three sips!

Bonus Pic: Forty-five minutes later, Sally Rae still held out hope that Herb would come around, but he actually stayed out like a light until 11:00am the following day!

In order to raise funds for the new maternity wing at St. Gertrude's Hospital, the staff put on a scintillating theatrical mystery called "Murder in the Delivery Room," with all profits ($114.67) going towards the dream project.

While his mother was cooking dinner, Phil Zipley used to love to hook up his stereo system with microphone and entertain her as she chopped and stirred. Unfortunately, the day after this photo was taken, he plugged his his mic into the back of the Amana Radar Range by mistake and zapped himself a perm that lasted for two years!

Solidarity was the key word for The Talbot Brothers, with Greggie, Peter and Trey all on hand to fend off anyone who didn't like eldest brother (third from the left) Chuck's unusual choice of attire...

Bonus Pic: Larry spent September through May with his dreary parents, Sid and Marsha, awaiting the day when he'd finally get to spend the summer with his Uncle Earl, who was expert in tutoring the young man in everything from knee bends to ball handling!

Farley and Janette enjoyed a glorious wedding ceremony, paid for in full by their affectionate families. Unfortunately, a small, but agonizing, round of mononucleosis was to follow in the coming weeks for all involved...

Cindy Hi-Di was elated to show off her new swimming ensemble, which even came with a coordinated floral swim cap. The bad news was that by the time she managed to get the cap completely around her sturdy hairdo, there was only fifteen minutes left before the pool was to close...

Thus, Cherie would never forget the day she showed up at Julieanne and Carole's Shotgun Gin Tournament with her hair long, straight and silken for it was the last time she was ever invited to the event.

Barnaby felt certain that his bagpipe music had captivated Miss Elsie Patentwood, but what he didn't know was that he was situated over a shallow, flat puddle and she was merely edging closer so that she could see under his kilt in the reflection!

Deborah and Tommy were always ecstatic on Christmas morning and this year even Lucky was beginning to see what all the fuss was about when he spotted a pair of new leather & corduroy house slippers under the tree that looked like they could use a good chewing up!

When Mrs. Chipplewaite got this roll of film back from her daughter Janice's wedding to Bruce, she was glad she'd taken it because after their enthusiastic tussle over the first bite of cake, this was the last anyone ever saw of the Bavarian plate that had hung on the wall for years before.

Because she had refused to wear the recommended attire for the Spaenkensbuttom Beachside Family Reunion, Magda was forced to take up the rear in all the day's games, lest she cause the ball to become lodged midway through the line...

Midge couldn't say she was fond of The Springstein's placement of their new platform rocker. When the back of it hit their living room wall, she ricocheted forward and nearly dented her hair on the floor...

It wasn't the style and flavor of his birthday cake, nor even the decor of Mamaw Ferguson's breakfast nook, that had put Malcolm in a sour mood. What really burnt his toast was that the four of them were going to be sharing a solitary spoon to eat all the cake and ice cream!

BONUS PIC: Coach Tenderhook presented the Hanover Minnows their scores for the relay and when a few of them seemed disappointed, he informed them that extra credit was available in his office if any of them wished to stay behind for a little while.

After so many years of fending off Elmer Fudd, Bugs Bunny really thought he could survive anything, but nonetheless found himself helpless when Death came calling!

So many years had sped by since Alice last visited The Mad Hatter for tea and she just couldn't resist stopping by for a cup of Darjeeling in order to show off her two children, Carol and Lewis...

Nice as it was, The Leiheini Hotel pool area only had two loungers, so Melvita had to make her way out there far before it opened, before the lifeguards even put up the table umbrellas, in order to score one!

Mary Beth's parents, Claude & Agnes Anne, told her she was welcome to invite a few friends over for the afternoon to enjoy their in-ground swimming pool, but they couldn't deny their shock when they came home earlier than expected and found this scene awaiting them!

The Jack Frost Dinner Dance was very nearly destroyed for Tangie and Darlene when they arrived and discovered that they'd each bought the exact same dress in Zayre's formal wear department, but fortunately they found the humor in it and decided to laugh it off.

Service was slower than optimum (and one could die waiting for a bowl of fresh water), but the atmosphere was lovely and the food delicious at Peppe's outdoor canine cafe.

Randy and Bill Bob had no intention of heading off on their Puerto Rican cruise without first running through which stateroom lingerie worked best, so they staged a little Polaroid photo shoot in order to pore over the best looks.

Downstairs neighbor Mr. Finkelmeyer had warned and warned Lydia about dancing too vigorously to her Leo Sayer album and it took him clambering up the fire escape and banging on her window to get her to cut it out and turn the record off!

Esther was bound and determined to win this year's talent contest at The 7th Annual St. William Community Pageant so she made Johnny clear all the valuable furniture out of the den while she prepared to contort herself into their fish tank, where she'd remain until she'd freed herself from the handcuffs...
